It’s well known that Hāfiz is Iran’s most famous poet. Nearly a thousand years after his life, the bard of Shiraz stirs the hearts of all Persian speakers, old and young, religious and secular, a visit to his grave, among the most famous tourist sites in Iran, evidences this.
Like all beloved artists, Hafiz’s work has taken a life of its own. It can be hard to demystify the poet, to clear away the fog and truly see him and his work. We’re here to change that.
