Sharghzadeh (شرق‌زده ‘struck by the east,’ antonym of gharbzadeh) is a translator and teacher of Persian poetry.

In 2018 he founded @persianpoetics, an online project dedicated to translating Persian poetry into modern, poetic English.

After graduating from the University of Michigan in 2020 he founded the #rumiwasmuslim campaign to challenge fake quotes attributed to Mawlānā Rumi.

He is now working on his first book. You can support the project via Paypal or Venmo (@persianpoetics).
